My Minimal Hoarding Life - 2018 July Resolution Check In

Wow! A month already gone but that is life, we have to make what we of time because before you know it, time has slipped passed us. Don`t put off what we can do today till tomorrow.

I make four resolutions, or goals, to accomplish each year. Some years I make it with all of them, some years I do not. Usually two are easier and two are harder.

I have began to pick a word, or words, that I try to also apply to my life for the year. This year I chose the words "No Regrets" because I do not want to regret a single thing I go for this year, whether I make it all the way or I fail, I will learn either way and make myself better.

What are my resolutions?

1- Stop buying - Grow more

Once again I have to say this is a 50% fail - 50% accomplishment.

No, I am not buying summer junk just because its on sale.

Yes, I am buying stuff for "the store" that will be open in the fall.

No, I am not buying as much food.

Yes, I am picking the garden and eating that food, canning and freezing also.

I will say that I am not buying as much junk food as I once was, I am no longer stocking none perishables, except toilet paper because a girls has got to have her toilet paper!! I am no longer buying the Sunday paper for coupons, I print what I want and let it go.

2 - Clear land - Set up rentals

This is on the back burner because of a storm that came through and blew trees down, those have to be addressed before knocking down more and grading land.

100% fail

This is just one of those speed bumps life has, I shall recover and move on.

3 - Clean, declutter and organize

Hmm.....

This month work has taken over, two jobs and building a business from scratch. Hi, my name is Angie and I am a workaholic.......

No, my house is not as clean as it usually is but its not nasty, I keep up the dishes and laundry. I need to dust more often and you guessed, I hate to dust.

Yes, I have kept the new stuff for the store organized, I have one area for the new store stuff and its creations. It smells wonderful in there too!

Get rid of clutter. I don`t have that much inside my home left to do, but that shed.... yes the shed is still waiting BUT there was mention of doing it sooner than later, I recommended that most be took the the dump and it was an agreement.

About 70% accomplished.

I will say that I am much better about buying books, I have just about stopped doing it and using the library more and more. No coupons and no newspapers for the month of July.

4 - Take a vacation

Repeat - 100% fail.

Nope! not even close. I have not had a day off in months, maybe years!

I think about vacation as I fill in the days of my calendar. I think about one day vacation but who am I kidding, I get one day off and I am sleeping!

Can I dump my work for a weekend? Maybe 3 days? My problem is getting someone to feed the animals.

~~~~~~
I have a dream and I am making it real. I began to save different plastic containers to reuse. I am reusing them and then I recycle because 99% of what I make is edible.  I love getting another use from something and then it will be melted down and something else made from it.
How is your yearly goals/resolutions coming along?
  1. May your public library serve you as well as mine *used to* serve me, before the Nefarious Librarian set about ruining it.
