My Minimal Hoarding Life - Minimalism Monday - February 24th.

Time to get back to Minimalism Mondays. When we take time to write down what we did accomplish, or plan to accomplish, seems we got the tasks done.

Once again we had a week of flooding, rain just about every day.

I also worked all week away from home, wake up and leave, come home, sleep and go back.

Accomplished :

Cleaned out the deep freezer, very little left but that is okay because there is no old food left. Now its ready to refill with 'only' what I will eat, hopefully, if its Gods will, I will grow everything myself.

I bagged up another tub of paperwork, this time it went to the trash can because there were no names, just receipts.

Cleaning :

This past week I got all the paperwork filed.

Cleaned the kitchen and swept and mopped.

Changed the bed sheets.

Got all the laundry washed, dried and put away.

Weekly Plan :

When I finish at work, I will get back to the garage, its almost cleaned out. I Don`t think I will have to work away from home all week so I hope to get a dry day for that.

I will say shed each week till its done!

Fill the new store with stock.

My Minimal Hoarding Life - Minimalism Monday - February 17th.

Time to get back to Minimalism Mondays. When we take time to write down what we did accomplish, or plan to accomplish, seems we got the tasks done.

Accomplished :

This week was all about paper. As a matter of fact 16 years of paper, paperwork that has no need to be here. 16 years of Tony`s life and around 9 years of mine. I built a fire Saturday night and began the task and burned for about an hour and once again Sunday after church for several hours.

How much room did all that paperwork take up? 3 tubs, I now have 3 empty rubs to go with the ones form last week.

If the rain had nor came I would have got more accomplished but we had days of rain and flooding. I have to have dry to take this to the dump.

And More :

I did buy a few new clothes, mainly because nothing fits anymore, all to big, even my bras and panties!

But that is okay, I feel better being smaller.

I will have to replace more clothing as the summer gets here.

Plan :

This week I hope to get the peg board hung in the store so I can move the art out of the breakfast nook, its hard to hang alone. I do need another pair of hands for that project.

I will say shed each week till its done!

I need to work on the outside of the house as well, clean off th front deck.

Cut more bush down and take it to the road.

Get the to big clothes gone, once and for all.

How are you doing with organizing?  Are you doing a massive clean out?

My Minimal Hoarding Life - Minimalism Monday - February 10th.

Time to get back to Minimalism Mondays. When we take time to write down what we did accomplish, or plan to accomplish, seems we got the tasks done.

Accomplished :

For about a month I have been slowly going through things and getting rid of most of it. The left behind hoard. Tony kept things and I don`t understand why, now I am dealing with the hoard after his death, no its not like the t.v. show hoarding where its gross and rotten, its just stuff.

Truck load after truck load went to the dump, trash cans filled weekly, and now, finally, I can see the end is near.

I cleaned out the second of three closets this pasted weekend, 90% went out the door and into the car as donations and 10% went in the trash. Yeah, an empty closet.

And More :

As for my own things, I am also gathering and removing what I no longer need. Big clothes are packed and ready to be given away. I do have a couple tubs to clean out, I am sure most of those clothes will go too. Donations. Why keep the clothes that are 2 sizes to big, I do not plan to gain those 20 pounds back.

The other stuff I am keeping is being organized, by category, so I know what I have and what I don`t, that is why hoarding begins anyways, you cannot find something you have and you buy another and the cycle starts.

In my opinion organizing what you keep is the most important part.
This is the plan to get my home back to minimal.

Plan :

Now... this shed I have put off for way to long, I went in last week and I know I will back the truck up to the door because most of it has ruined, in my eyesight, and that is what happens to a hoard. It rots. Sooner than later this will be done. I think the reason I have put it off is because I know there is nothing in there that matters, for the most part.
